Washington DC Strip Clubs: GOP Treasurer Accuses Party Chairman Of Concealing Debts

RNC spokesperson Doug Heye has dismissed the accusation as “patently false” in a statement to Hotline OnCall. Heye assured that the party remains in compliance with FEC campaign finance rules.
Steele, a former lieutenant governor of Maryland, has faced a string of issues since he became the GOP’s first black chairman in January 2009. He has had to clarify statements calling abortion an “individual choice,” and predicting his party’s failure in taking back the majority in the House this November.
Earlier this year, the RNC chief of staff and the co-chairman of the GOP’s fundraising board resigned amid fallout from a federal disclosure report.
The report showed the GOP spending $1,946 on a California bondage-themed strip club in January to entertain a donor, and Steele spending thousands the next month on chartered planes and stays at the Four Seasons and the Beverly Hills Hotel.
