The former finance director of South Carolina’s social services agency has gotten an early start on a prison sentence for fraud after he was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Defense attorney Celeste Jones said Paul Moore reported to federal authorities Thursday morning.
Moore was arrested early Sunday at a restaurant where deputies said his eyes were bloodshot and he smelled of alcohol.
Moore had been out on bond waiting to report to prison to begin a 10-year sentence for stealing more than $5 million from the Department of Social Services, money he admitted spending on strippers, alcohol and gambling.
