According to CPB officials, Juan Andres Deceano Salas, a 27-year old Mexican citizen, attempted to travel to Cancun, Mexico, but was prevented from departing the United States after CBP officers discovered he was wanted in Fairfax County for assault, battery and destruction of property.
CPB officials said Salas was initially arrested on Dec. 25, 2009, for allegedly assaulting a family member and a police officer. He was scheduled to appear in a Fairfax County court in March but failed to do so, resulting in an outstanding arrest warrant. CBP said it has no record of Deceano Salas being legally admitted into the U.S. Fairfax County police took custody of Salas and will return him to federal custody upon adjudication of his charges.
