District of Columbia: A new bill to address child exploitation by sex traffickers is introduced into the House this week. The bill would add $45 million to law enforcement and victim assistance efforts. The proposed bill is a legislative response to the findings of of a 2009 study on domestic minor sex trafficking.
: Cotati city officials are considering city ordinance against massage parlors. The officials say that Cotati has many massage parlors that are running as brothels. The evidence is based on the police investigation and complaint by the residents.
Arizona: A 41 year old man is facing a child prostitution charge for allegedly bribing a teen girl with gifts in exchange for sex. The police was notified by the 16 year old victims’ friend after the victim told her friend about two years long sexual relationship with the man.
