Washington DC Adult Entertainment: Total Recall Getting Total Remake

Written on July 30, 2010 – 3:01 pm | by larrylibido

I pride myself on not being a negative Nancy. If someone wants to remake a classic film I usually don’t mind, and I’m even really looking forward to the expansion of the Back to the Future films through future Telltale adventure games. However, Total Recall might be too sacred a property to take on again. I’m just not sure anything can live up to the genius of the original, especially without Arnold Schwarzenegger punching everybody in the stomach as Douglas Quaid.
Despite the twists and turns, Total Recall itself isn’t really all that cerebral. It just has so many funny moments, primarily due to Schwarzenegger and quotes such as “Get your ass to Mars” and “See you at the party Richter!” Who could replace Arnold in one of his best roles ever?
Columbia Pictures president Matt Tolmach says Wisemen will being a “contemporary feel to the film while taking care with everything we love about Philip K. Dick’s original story.” I’m interested to see what Wisemen can do, but let’s face it: Nothing will ever beat a prostitute with three boobs. The film doesn’t appear to have a release date just yet.

… Why do they steal from the poorest of the poor? Because no one cares,” Martinez said. “These people are just merchandise for the Zetas and the rest of the world, sold into modern-day slavery.”
The slavery Martinez mentioned is the reason so many kidnappings occur along the route to the border.
Zamora, one of the journalists who worked on a special project titled “Mujeres en el Camino” (”Woman on the Journey”) showed a clip from her project which focused on providing first-hand accounts of those kidnapped by the Zetas.
In the clip, a women being interviewed said the Zetas forced her to work for freedom — either as a waitress in a restaurant or as a prostitute on the street corner.
Of the choices given to her, prostitution paid more — a choice she regrettably made.

Washington DC Adult Entertainment: FBI continues to uncover massive frauds and Ponzi schemes in the wake of the …

Written on July 29, 2010 – 1:01 pm | by larrylibido

From a national perspective, the FBI focuses its efforts on the most violent and dangerous gangs who present the greatest threat to our communities. Since the FBI’s establishment of the Safe Streets Violent Crimes Initiative in 1992, the FBI has focused on violent gangs by identifying and targeting major groups acting as significant criminal enterprises. By conducting multi-subject and multi-jurisdictional investigations, the FBI concentrates on the worst gangs involved in patterns of racketeering and those most difficult to prosecute, such prison gangs and those based overseas. This investigative model enables the FBI to target senior gang leadership and develop enterprise-based prosecutions.
The recent focus on Barrio Azteca, one of the narcotics gangs responsible for the extreme violence in cities such as Juarez on the U.S.-Mexico border, illustrates this approach. Barrio Azteca has been tied to drug trafficking, prostitution, extortion, assaults, murder, and the retail sale of drugs obtained by Mexican drug cartels. Most recently, the gang has been linked to the murder of a U.S. Consulate employee, her husband, and the spouse of another consulate employee in Juarez, Mexico.

Washington DC Strip Clubs: Excitement Has Returned to Raiders

Written on July 29, 2010 – 7:50 am | by ginger

Haynesworth has returned to the area to prepare for the opening of training camp today, and is optimistic about his situation in Washington for the first time in months.
The source said Haynesworth told him he is coming to work and understands he will have to play nose tackle at times in the Redskins’ new 3-4 defense.
The team fined Haynesworth $10,000 for his absence from the mandatory minicamp and again for missing a scheduled physical, according to two sources familiar with the disciplinary action. The Redskins reportedly plan to try to recoup some of the $26 million in bonus money Haynesworth has received in the first 17 months of his contract (he has been paid $32 million total), but they have not done so yet.

Washington DC Strip Clubs: A list of lottery winners … and what they lost

Written on July 28, 2010 – 9:26 pm | by ginger

William “Bud” Post III: He called his winnings the “lottery of death.” The Pennsylvania man, who died in 2006, won $16.2 million in 1988, but it all went downhill. His sixth wife left him. He spent time in jail for firing a gun at a bill collector. His brother was convicted for hiring a hit man to kill him. In the end Mr. Post declared bankruptcy.
Jack Whittaker: Nothing but trouble followed the West Virginian after he won a record $314.9 million in the multistate Powerball lottery in 2002. He gave away $3 million to local churches. More than $545,000 in cash was stolen from his car while he was in a strip club. His granddaughter Brandi died of a drug overdose. He was arrested twice for drunken driving and ordered into rehab and pleaded no contest after attacking a bar manager. Last year, his daughter, Brandi’s mother, was found dead.

Washington DC Strip Clubs: DC Party-Rock Digest No.1: The Dance Party and the Factory

Written on July 26, 2010 – 5:25 pm | by ginger

The last time we checked in with the Dance Party—that would be the time the dudes behind Fan Death Records called it a “garbage band”—the sweatband-loving D.C. synthpop group was in L.A. recording its major-label debut. Now via the band’s publicist, we learn that that record, TOUCH, is complete, and will drop on Sept. 28 via Hell Ya! Records, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. The press release says fookyah:
It seems like a common rock and roll cliché for bands to move to Hollywood, party with reckless abandon, and hang out at strip clubs. However, for THE DANCE PARTY, the L.A. party lifestyle seemed like the most obvious next step in their career.  While in Hollywood writing and recording TOUCH, the band took over [strip club] Crazy Girls, setting up shop with a naughty monthly residency involving energetic performances, excessive partying, and most importantly, onstage strippers.
